ORTHOPOSTURODONTIE

ORTHOPOSTURODONTICS, term that we imagined, is a concept which makes it possible to replace the individual in an

optimal postural balance by a dental treatment occlusal.

We proposed an original postural concept which rests on some major

ideas:

- a cranial postural concept

- a head balanced in space in a system orthogonal reference

frame

- postural chains which leave cranium and which downwards move

in a postural diagram of type "signal-down)

How occlusion can intervene in the posture?

1 the installation of the antiquated postural diagrams.

The mouth takes part in the installation of the tonic-postural system

2 postural determinants of occlusion:

- the cranial-mandibular relation

- plans of occlusion

- the language

3 the capital role of the trigeminal nerve, true postural nerve:

- the trigeminal nerve, neuro-matrix of the face

- the trigeminal nerve and the cranial dura maters

- the trigeminal nerve and reticular formation

- the trigeminal nerve and the locus coeruleus

the trigeminal nerve is presented in an animation in three dimensions which we carried out for the first time in France .

It is a total nerve according to A DAMASIO, but it acts for us like a true postural nerve. The teeth intervene like postural sensors and inform the brain of the

cephalic space position.

Our methodology of work is not based on a search for rising or

downward lesions, but on the existence of two systems with their own physiology and

pathology:

- the cranial-sacrum-mandibular system or central system which will give rise to a morning diagram lesion, homolateral

- the peripheral system which gathers the eye, the vestibule, the foot and proprioceptivity of the skin and which will give rise to an organic diagram of end of day, crossed

The private clinic will be the subject of mixed diagrams including a share of each one.

The dental surgeon is thus implied in the postural disorders and deficits.

Dental occlusion takes importance at the old subjects, but also in our civilizations where the individuals are solicited more and more and increasingly stresses.
