Welcome letter of the Honorary President of ROPOSTURO - World Congress of Posturology 2005

Dear colleagues and friends,

We were extremely pleased to have you with us for the October 19-22, 2005 , first edition of ROPOSTURO - World Congress of Posturology 2005, in the heart of Bucharest . The success of that meeting eloquently bears witness to the wish of the researchers and practitioners to intensify their collaboration so as to constantly improve the quality of life through new methods and techniques of health care.

Our congress is a privileged scientific exchange forum, upheld by the best international lecturers coming from the various fields of the profession: highly regarded clinicians and researchers, selected according to their generally acknowledged qualifications and expertise.

Prof. Domenico Caradonna, International President of ROPOSTURO - World Congress of Posturology 2005, Dr. Radu Dop, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Dr. Marian Vladimir Constantinescu, General Secretary of the ROPOSTURO World Congress, and its committees are organizing a superb program. Not only are there plenary sessions by global leaders of posturology, but also there are symposia, workshops and courses that cover the gamut of posturology that will serve to augment this exceptional educational program.

The social program will provide a unique insight into the best of Petit Paris - the old brand of Bucharest .

We wish to thank the members of the organizing committees who have done volunteer work while also pursuing their current activities. Their fidelity and efforts have greatly contributed to the success of our enterprise.

Welcome address of the International President of ROPOSTURO - World Congress of Posturology 2005

The  "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania in collaboration with the University of Palermo, Italy, le Collège Internationnal d'Étude de la Statique (C.I.E.S.), Marseille, France, the California Institute of PsychoAcoustics, San Francisco, USA and the Romanian Association of Oral Rehabilitation and Posturotherapy (ROPOSTURO) are organizing the first World Congress of Posturology in Romania.

We are aware that over 90% of the world-wide population, has suffered, is suffering or will suffer from disturbances of the vertebral column. The medicine has made an enormous progress in all the levels of the various specializations. In the last few years a complete vision of the connected problem in the imbalances of the Postural Tonic System has emerged that represents the cross-sectional branch that joins all the various medical specialties. Today odontology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, rheumatology, pediatrics, physiotherapy, sports medicine, they can no longer ignore the importance of the interdisciplinary nature and above all of the transdisciplinarity with the posture, that is the common denominator and represents a new approach, both for clinicians and the therapists.

The modern neurophysiology is the logic support that explains such interrelationship. This world-wide gathering, represents the only opportunity for the surgeon, the dentists, the physiotherapists, the orthopedists, the oculists, the pediatrics, the gynecologists, sports doctors, rehabilitation therapists, and for all those who operate in the field of manual therapies, to understand the link between the laws of cause and effects that preside the formation of the several lesions and mechanical pathologies.

The best representatives of the posturology are present in this convention: Prof. Baldani, Prof. Sally Blythe, Prof. Bricot, Dr. Carlson, Dr. Chinappi Jr., Dr. Clauzade, Prof. Colpaert, Prof. Da Silva, Prof. Feinmann, Prof. Horvat, Dr. Lechner, Prof. Leeds, Prof. Miclea, Prof. Slavicek, Prof. Solere, Dr. St.John; all of them have a vast experience in the field of posturology.

They are "Opinion Leaders", in the various trends of the postural medicine. They are gathered in the aim to introduce to the medical world the posturology and its applications in the several disciplines.

It is a great honor for Romania to host the World Congress of Posturology - ROPOSTURO 2005 that brings together the most famous personalities in the field and disseminate a new upsurge for treatment of the Romanian patients.

Welcome address of the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the World Congress of Posturology - ROPOSTURO 2005

Dear Colleagues,

The World Congress of Posturology - ROPOSTURO will be held in Bucharest, Romania, October 19-22, 2005. It will be a crucial event for professionals in all aspects of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of postural disturbances. The congress facilitates exchanges between professionals involved in all fields of medicine: physicians, surgeons, dentists, psychologists, orthopedists, oculists, pediatrics, gynecologists, sports doctors, accupunturists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation therapists, and for all those who operate in the field of manual therapies, as well as research scholars, public health specialists.

New methods, research reports, advanced teaching sessions; multidisciplinary exchanges are the main focus of the sessions. Through plenary sessions and satellite symposia, professional associations are welcome to our congress. The congress is a meeting place of representatives of all parts of Europe, the United Stated and Latin America.

All sessions will be held in English, French, Italian and Portuguese with simultaneous translation in Romanian.

A special effort is invested to organize an exhibition of some types of equipment, materials and medicines used for diagnosis and treatment of postural disturbances. A display of books, journals and internet facilities will be available for professionals (physicians and non physicians) as well as for the associations.

Booking of hotels in Bucharest for participants in the congress have been negotiated at very favorable rates. To benefit from the most favorable rates, please confirm as early as possible.

The scientific committee of the congress has done their best to provide a meeting of high scientific and practical quality.

Cultural events, a gala dinner, an excursion to local sceneries and post-conference tours to historic sites on Prahova Valley are some of the events you may choose to attend. There will be plenty of opportunities for academic interchange and the sharing of friendship. We are confident that this will be a congress remaining long in the memory of all participants.

Welcome to the web page of the ROPOSTURO - World Congress of Posturology 2005. The meeting looks to be living up to the expectations of high standards and we hope to your and your friends' attendance.

The programme is an exciting mixture of scientific and practical clinical approach to postural disturbances. There is something for all participants. In addition to the scientific and educational content, there is warmth and hospitality of the Romanian friends and the excitement of discovering a fascinating country.

Welcome to ROPOSTURO - Romanian Oral Rehabilitation and Posturotherapy Association web site. This web site is the official web site for  ROPOSTURO - World Congress of Posturology 2005 , our mission to introduce posturology in Romania to others and improve  communications between the professionals (physicians and non physicians) as well as for the associations in and out Romania.

ROPOSTURO web site also advertises for Continuing Education, Oral Rehabilitation and Posturotherapy including Community Services.

A short time after the congress we will present here the e-journal POSTUROLOGIA. In this one they will find the scientific papers presented b y the lecturers at the World Congress of Posturology ROPOSTURO - 2005. The access to this e-journal will be granted only to the members of ROPOSTURO Association with payed membership fee.

The ROPOSTURO website www.roposturo.ro will remain online for your convenience. Since September 2005 you will be able to surf our virtual environment, developed with our partners and the exhibitors of ROPOSTURO - World Congress of Posturology 2005.
